The Board of Education of Hamilton County Community Unit District No. 10 met in a special session on the evening of January 31, 2006, at 6:00 p.m., in the Jr. High School Library, for the purpose of conducting a public hearing to request a waiver to observe Lincoln’s Birthday and Casimir Pulaski Day as an attendance day.

            The meeting was called to order by Board President John Ewald, and Roll Call was as follows: Present – Danny Anselment, Steve Becker, Krystal Donelson, Randy Kirsch, Tom Maulding, Rodney Rubenacker and John Ewald.

            Superintendent Vince Mitchell presented an overview of a proposal that would allow Unit 10 to be in attendance on Lincoln’s Birthday and Casimir Pulaski Day.  The proposal will be presented to the Illinois State Board of Education in the form of a waiver request as per statutory provisions. 

            President Mitchell asked if anyone had questions pertaining to the waiver request.  There were none.

            Motion by Donelson, second by Kirsch to adjourn.  Vote was taken by voice, motion carried, and the meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
